In a parliamentary session on Tuesday, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina emphasized the importance of relying on domestic processes rather than seeking foreign intervention for resolving national issues. She stated that lodging complaints with foreign entities would not yield any benefits and emphasized the need for Bangladesh to progress independently through democratic means.

Addressing the parliament during the discussion on the President's speech and the first session of the 12th parliament, Prime Minister Hasina stressed the fair and effective functioning of parliamentary committees, with 50 committees already formed for this purpose.

She criticized the BNP-Jamaat alliance for their involvement in violent activities, including arson terrorism, during past movements. Referring to specific charges against individuals for patronizing and financing such acts, she underscored the necessity of holding them accountable rather than sparing them.

Prime Minister Hasina highlighted the severity of the situation by showing a video clip depicting the mayhem caused by the BNP-Jamaat alliance between 2013 and 2015, as well as in October 2023. She reiterated her stance that those involved in such heinous acts must face legal consequences.

Drawing parallels between BNP's actions and Israeli bombings in Gaza, Prime Minister Hasina condemned BNP for resorting to violence and corruption. She criticized BNP leaders for allegedly orchestrating violence from abroad and urged the public to protest against such activities.

In her address, Prime Minister Hasina emphasized the need for internal accountability and urged lawmakers to ensure that perpetrators are held responsible for their actions. She called on the people to reject violence and corruption and work towards a prosperous and democratic Bangladesh.
