Mexico City, Mar 20 (V7N) – Bangladesh Ambassador to Mexico, Mushfiqul Fazal Ansari, has formally presented his credentials to Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum at a ceremony held at the National Palace in Mexico City on Wednesday (March 18).
During the event, Ambassador Mushfiqul Fazal conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from Bangladesh’s Chief Advisor, Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus. He also extended an official invitation to President Sheinbaum to visit Bangladesh, emphasizing the potential for deeper diplomatic engagement.
The Ambassador reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening bilateral ties between Bangladesh and Mexico, highlighting that this year marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations. He described this milestone as a golden opportunity to enhance cooperation in trade, culture, and direct people-to-people exchanges.
Additionally, Ambassador Mushfiqul Fazal urged President Sheinbaum to expedite the process of establishing a Mexican embassy in Dhaka, stating that such an initiative would significantly bolster diplomatic and economic relations.
In response, President Sheinbaum warmly welcomed the Bangladeshi envoy and assured full support from the Mexican government in fulfilling his diplomatic responsibilities. She also expressed a strong desire to deepen Bangladesh-Mexico relations and strengthen cooperation in various sectors.
Following the credential presentation, Ambassador Mushfiqul Fazal, dressed in traditional Bangladeshi attire, toured the historic National Palace, which serves as both the office and official residence of the Mexican President.
