Dhaka, Mar 30 (V7N) – In an effort to revive the old traditions of Dhaka, a joyous procession will be held after the Eid prayers this year. The announcement was made by Local Government, Rural Development, and Cooperatives Advisor Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan.
At a press conference on Sunday morning at the Old Trade Fair grounds, DNCC Administrator Mohammad Ejaz shared details about the upcoming procession. The procession will begin at the Old Trade Fair grounds and end at the Parliament House, passing through Manik Mia Avenue. The procession will feature about 20 horse-drawn carriages at both the front and rear, with a colorful and festive atmosphere.
Participants can expect band parties and Mughal paintings, and the procession will be inclusive, allowing people of all genders, religions, and castes to join.
The procession will adhere to specific guidelines:
-
Only mobile phones, prayer mats, or wallets will be allowed—no heavy objects.
-
Unwanted flags will not be permitted and will be confiscated if carried.
Alongside the procession, a two-day Eid fair will be held at the Old Trade Fair grounds, featuring around 200 stalls. The fair will offer a wide range of products, food, and snacks, and will also provide merry-go-rounds and play facilities for children, making it an exciting event for all ages.
This event promises to blend tradition with festive joy, offering a glimpse into Dhaka's rich cultural heritage while creating an atmosphere of celebration for the Eid festival.
