Dhaka, Mar 30 (V7N) – This year’s Eid journey has been hailed as the most comfortable in the last 20 years. Road Transport and Bridges Advisor, Muhammad Fauzul Kabir Khan, expressed his satisfaction with the smooth travel experience for Eid-bound passengers, attributing the success to the joint efforts of various government bodies and stakeholders.
While visiting the Gabtoli Bus Terminal in the capital on Sunday morning, Khan noted, "This time, the Eid journey has been the most comfortable in the last 20 years. Never before has the Eid journey been so easy. This has been possible because of our joint efforts." He emphasized that government departments, including the Road Department, BRTA (Bangladesh Road Transport Authority), Local Government Ministry, and the Police, all worked together to ensure a hassle-free journey for the public.
He further acknowledged the invaluable cooperation from transport workers and bus owners, stating, "The most important thing is that the workers and the owners have done a wonderful job. We cannot do this alone without your cooperation."
BRTA Chairman Md. Yasin also praised the efforts, saying, “We are working in the interest of the country. The government, along with BRTA, Roads, Highways Department, Bangladesh Police, owners, and workers, have all collaborated to ensure that people can go home without any problems.”
He added that BRTA had deployed magistrates at every terminal and established a vigilance team to monitor fare discrepancies. Yasin confirmed that no complaints of excessive fares had been reported, with strict actions being taken wherever necessary.
