Dhaka, Apr 07 (V7N) – The Bangladesh government has issued a strong condemnation of the ongoing genocide and gross human rights violations carried out by the Israeli occupation forces in the Gaza Strip. The Foreign Ministry expressed its outrage in a statement on Monday, condemning the indiscriminate attacks on civilians and the humanitarian crisis unfolding in the region.

The statement highlighted the escalating violence, noting that since the recent ceasefire violation, many Palestinians, particularly women and children, have been killed in Israeli military operations. These attacks have severely disrupted the delivery of humanitarian aid, leading to a catastrophic humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Bangladesh condemned the indiscriminate aerial bombardment of densely populated civilian areas in Gaza, describing it as an act of ethnic cleansing against the unarmed Palestinian population. The government called on Israel to immediately cease all military operations, urging maximum restraint and compliance with international humanitarian law.

In the statement, Bangladesh also urged the international community, especially the United Nations, to fulfill their moral and legal obligations and take effective measures to implement an unconditional ceasefire. This, Bangladesh emphasized, is necessary to save civilian lives and allow humanitarian aid to reach the besieged Gaza Strip.

Furthermore, the Bangladesh government reaffirmed its strong support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital based on the pre-1967 borders.

Bangladesh also stressed the importance of returning to the negotiating table to establish a sustainable peace in the Middle East, crucial for regional and global stability. The government called on all parties to return to diplomacy and dialogue to end the violence and suffering of the Palestinian people.

Finally, Bangladesh urged the international community to work towards a two-state solution based on international law, UN resolutions, and the aspirations of the Palestinian people for peace, dignity, and justice.
