Dhaka, Apr 13 (V7N) – Chief Advisor and Chairman of the National Consensus Commission, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, laid the foundation stone of Sampriti Bhavan at the International Buddhist Vihara in Merul Badda, Dhaka, on Sunday morning.

Following the unveiling ceremony, Dr. Yunus visited the prayer hall of the Vihara and interacted with members of the Buddhist community, exchanging views on issues of mutual interest and communal harmony.

The International Buddhist Vihara, established in 1981, has been a vital institution in preserving the religion, culture, and heritage of the Buddhist community in Bangladesh. It also plays a significant role in the promotion and dissemination of the teachings of the Dharma.

The newly planned Sampriti Bhavan is expected to become a center for interfaith dialogue, cultural exchange, and community engagement, in line with the Vihara’s mission of promoting peace and harmony across all religious and cultural lines.
