Dhaka, Apr 26 (V7N)- Principal Advisor Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus has called for the proactive use and protection of intellectual property rights to build a prosperous and innovative Bangladesh.

In a message delivered on the occasion of World Intellectual Property Day 2025 on Saturday, Dr. Yunus emphasized that intellectual property (IP) plays a key role in strengthening Bangladesh’s position in the global creative competition.

"I expect everyone to make an effective contribution to building a strong innovative culture in the country," said the Nobel laureate, welcoming the celebration of World Intellectual Property Day in Bangladesh along with the rest of the world.

This year’s theme — “IP and Music: Feel the Beat of IP” — holds special significance for Bangladesh, according to Dr. Yunus. "Music is a universal language that resonates deep in the heart and reflects our heritage and diverse art forms. From folk songs to modern melodies, our artists continue to captivate audiences worldwide," he noted.

Dr. Yunus stressed the importance of proper implementation of intellectual property laws and policies to ensure that creativity, innovation, and economic progress in the music industry are meaningfully connected. He said such measures would "further accelerate the pace of our cultural and economic development through the combination of industry and modern technology."

Referring to the broader goals of the interim government, Dr. Yunus reiterated its commitment to creating a non-discriminatory, prosperous Bangladesh, born from the uprising of students, workers, and the people.

He concluded by wishing success to all events organized in celebration of World Intellectual Property Day 2025.
