Dhaka, Apr 29 (V7N)- The Hajj pilgrimage officially began as the first flight carrying 398 pilgrims departed from Dhaka on Monday at 2:15 am via Saudi Airlines. The pilgrims had earlier completed immigration at the Ashkona Hajj Camp without any difficulties, expressing satisfaction with the overall management.

For the first time, color-coded tags have been introduced to identify and manage luggage more efficiently. This new system ensures bags are delivered directly to pilgrims’ hotels in Saudi Arabia, reducing stress and confusion upon arrival.

Immigration for the inaugural flight began at 10 pm on Sunday. Pilgrims reported a smooth and organized process for all departing flights. Many voiced appreciation for the hassle-free experience and the additional support provided.

“I’m very pleased with the arrangements,” said one pilgrim. “We faced no delays or confusion. May Allah accept our prayers for our families and our country.”

However, some pilgrims pointed out a lack of seating arrangements at the Ashkona Hajj Camp, requesting the authorities to ensure adequate chairs for waiting passengers.

In another first this year, pilgrims are being provided with Hajj prepaid cards, mobile SIMs with roaming facilities, and a dedicated mobile app to help with communication, location tracking, and Hajj-related services.

Over the coming days, thousands more pilgrims are expected to depart from Bangladesh as part of this year’s Hajj program.
