Dhaka, June 20 (V7N) — The government has sent five secretaries and one grade-1 officer into compulsory retirement. The Ministry of Public Administration issued separate notifications in this regard on Thursday night.

The officials sent on compulsory retirement are:

  1. Kazi Enamul Hasan — Director General, Bangladesh Employees Welfare Board (Secretary)

  2. Sukesh Kumar Sarkar — Director General, National Planning and Development Academy (Secretary)

  3. Muhammad Ibrahim — Chairman, Land Appeal Board (Secretary)

  4. Dr. Md. Shahid Ullah — Rector, National Development Administration Academy (Secretary)

  5. Mohammad Salah Uddin — Secretary (OSD), Ministry of Public Administration

  6. Dr. Lipika Bhadra — Chairman, Bangladesh Sugar and Food Industries Corporation (Grade-1)

The decision was made under Section 45 of the Government Service Act, 2018, which allows the government to send officers into retirement after completing 25 years of service, without assigning any reason.

According to the official notifications, the retired officers will receive all benefits as per government rules.

It is noteworthy that the interim government had earlier sent several other senior officials on compulsory retirement in a similar manner.
