Dhaka, June 27 (V7N) — A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight bound for Singapore was forced to return to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka after developing an engine problem shortly after takeoff. The aircraft landed safely, with no harm to passengers or crew.
The incident took place on Friday morning aboard Biman flight BG 584, a Boeing 737-800 carrying 154 passengers and 7 crew members. According to airport authorities, the plane departed Dhaka at 8:38 am. After climbing to an altitude of approximately 2,500 feet, the pilot detected an engine issue and made the decision to return.
The aircraft landed safely at Shahjalal Airport at 8:59 am. Airport officials confirmed that all passengers and crew members disembarked without incident.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines and aviation authorities are investigating the cause of the engine problem. Alternative arrangements are being made for the affected passengers.
