Dhaka, July 28 (V7N) – Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan, Advisor to the Interim Government’s Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, and Youth and Sports, has affirmed that the transfer of power in Bangladesh will take place through a democratic process.

He made this statement in a Facebook post from his verified ID on Monday night.

"The transfer of power will be through a democratic process only—whoever comes to power. Any other plan to seize power will face resistance like on August 5," Asif Mahmud wrote, issuing a clear warning against any unconstitutional attempt to disrupt the democratic process.

While he did not elaborate on the events of August 5 in the post, the statement suggests the government is prepared to counter any forceful or undemocratic attempts to assume control. His remarks come amid heightened political discussions and preparations ahead of the upcoming national elections.

The post has drawn attention for its firm stance on upholding constitutional norms and reinforces the interim government’s commitment to ensuring a lawful and peaceful power transition.
