Dhaka, July 29 (V7N) – Renowned legal expert and academic Professor Dr. Asif Nazrul has stated that the atrocities committed by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s regime have exceeded the brutality of the Pakistani army in 1971.

He made the remarks during a discussion meeting at the Judicial Training Institute on Tuesday morning.

Dr. Nazrul, who is also serving as a legal advisor, emphasized that the killings that occurred in July and August 2024 will be tried fairly, reassuring the public that there is no reason to be disappointed about the legal process.

“The trial is progressing in a timely and structured manner,” he said. “We believe the desired outcomes will be achieved during the tenure of the current government.”

He further added that the evidence being gathered will be preserved in such a way that no future government will be able to derail or avoid continuing the trial, ensuring long-term accountability.

The statement has sparked renewed debate over recent state violence and the progress of ongoing judicial proceedings related to the July Uprising and subsequent events.
