Dhaka, Aug 08 (V7N) – Commerce Advisor Sheikh Bashiruddin has claimed that the country’s daily commodities market is now free from syndicate control, crediting the interim government’s strict measures over the past year.

Speaking at a program organized by the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) on the July revival Thursday afternoon, Sheikh Bashiruddin said the interim government’s firm stance had broken syndicate influence in the market. He added that, in line with the July spirit, the government aims to root out corruption before the upcoming national elections and expand employment opportunities.

“Before the next election, we will create new jobs and move past the intermediate stage of resolving the energy crisis,” he stated.

However, during the same event, the Commerce Secretary acknowledged that corruption and inequality have not yet been fully eradicated.
