Dhaka, Aug 16 (V7N) – Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus has urged the nation to remain vigilant so that no one can disrupt the existing order, brotherhood, and communal harmony in society. He said the interim government, formed through the historic mass uprising of students, workers, and the public, is committed to safeguarding this harmony.
In a message on Friday marking Janmashtami, Dr. Yunus extended greetings and congratulations to the Hindu community on the auspicious occasion. He described Janmashtami, the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna, as one of the major religious festivals of the Hindu community.
“Throughout his life, Lord Krishna preached justice, humanity, and peace. Wherever he saw oppression and injustice, he appeared to protect the good from evil forces,” said Dr. Yunus.
Highlighting communal harmony as a unique feature of Bangladeshi culture, the Chief Adviser said people of all faiths have long practiced their religions while maintaining peaceful coexistence. He expressed hope that the ideals and teachings of Sri Krishna would further strengthen mutual harmony and brotherhood.
Dr. Yunus also called for building a new Bangladesh free of discrimination and rich in communal harmony through the collective efforts of all.
