Dhaka, Aug 17 (V7N) – Renowned cultural advisor and filmmaker Mustafa Sarwar Faruqi is now out of danger after falling ill on Saturday, according to health authorities.
Professor Dr. Md. Abu Zafar, Director General of the Directorate General of Health, told reporters on Saturday night that Faruqi was treated at the emergency department with saline and underwent necessary medical tests. “His ECG report showed no heart problems. He is fine now. He fell ill due to excessive work pressure,” Dr. Zafar confirmed.
Family’s Statement
Faruqi’s wife, actress Nusrat Imroz Tisha, also reassured well-wishers in a Facebook post. She wrote that her husband had collapsed during a ministry workshop in Cox’s Bazar and was later airlifted to Dhaka by helicopter for treatment. “Doctors said he fell ill from excessive work pressure. For now, he is out of danger. Please keep him in your prayers,” Tisha said.
