Dhaka, Sep 06 (V7N) – Local Government Affairs Advisor Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan alleged on Saturday that many individuals who previously demanded elections in December or at other times are now opposing timely elections and engaging in conspiracies to delay the process. He also accused some of attempting to rehabilitate the ousted Awami League.
He made the remarks at the orientation program for newly appointed officers and employees of the Rural Poverty Alleviation Foundation (PDBF) in the capital.
Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan further stated that some people have lost their direction because fascists were denied the opportunity to participate in the February elections, warning that attempts to sabotage the upcoming elections must not succeed.
The advisor, emphasizing democratic values, expressed hope that a fair and transparent election could be held with the cooperation of political parties, civil society, and active participation from the people.
