Dhaka, Sep 16 (V7N) – Disaster Management and Relief Advisor Farooq E Azam has said that the government is working to ensure that every citizen receives advance disaster warnings. To strengthen this initiative, a unified national volunteer network will be created to deliver timely assistance to affected communities.
He made the remarks on Tuesday morning (September 16) while inaugurating the National Dialogue on Disaster Early Warning at the China Friendship Conference Center in Dhaka.
The advisor stressed that effective coordination between government and private organizations is essential for building a robust early warning system. “Through joint efforts, we will be able to stand beside disaster-prone communities more effectively,” he said.
Representatives from the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, Bangladesh Red Crescent, international aid agencies, and both domestic and foreign NGOs took part in the dialogue.
