Dhaka, Sep 21 (V7N) – Finance Advisor Dr. Saleh Uddin Ahmed has assured that students across the country will receive new textbooks in January as scheduled. He also confirmed that the list of publishers and printers responsible for producing the books will be finalized within this month.

Speaking to reporters after a meeting of the government’s procurement committee at the Secretariat on Sunday morning, Dr. Saleh Uddin said that allegations of irregularities had surfaced in last year’s textbook printing process. “Those who were accused of irregularities will not be given work this time,” he stressed.

The advisor further informed that approval has been granted to procure vaccines. He noted that efforts are underway to reduce the commission cost by negotiating directly with UNICEF. “Vaccines for the next three months will be brought through competitive bidding,” he added.
