Dhaka, Oct 10 (V7N) – Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus will leave for Rome, Italy on Sunday (October 12) to attend the flagship event of the World Food Forum, according to his Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam.
A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight carrying Professor Yunus and his entourage is scheduled to depart from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 11:30 a.m., BSS reports.
During his visit, Professor Yunus will deliver an address at the main session of the World Food Forum as an invited guest speaker. He is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and heads of various international organizations, where discussions will focus on global food security, poverty reduction, and sustainable development.
The World Food Forum, organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, serves as a global platform for policymakers, researchers, and entrepreneurs to exchange ideas on shaping the future of the world’s food systems.
This year’s event will be held at FAO headquarters in Rome from October 10 to 17. The Chief Advisor’s participation is viewed as a reflection of Bangladesh’s active engagement in international development and diplomacy.
Professor Yunus is scheduled to return to Dhaka on October 15.
