Dhaka, Oct 12 (V7N) – Md. Ehsanul Haque, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, has expressed confidence that the administration can ensure a free and fair national election if provided with the proper opportunity and environment.

Speaking to reporters at the Secretariat on Sunday (October 12) afternoon, Haque emphasized that there is no issue with law and order and reiterated the Chief Advisor’s instructions that the upcoming election will be conducted in the fairest manner possible. “During the election, we will operate under the Election Commission (EC). I am confident that the field administration will perform its duties impartially, and I have taken responsibility to ensure that,” he said.

Haque further stated that all officials on duty must remain above political controversies, and any officer found to be working for a political party will be immediately removed from election duty. “If they do not perform their election duties impartially, action will be taken,” he warned.

He added that the administration requires a conducive environment and protection to carry out its responsibilities effectively. “I have never followed instructions from any political party, and I will not do so in the future. Presiding officers will exercise the powers assigned to them, and any failure to do so will be addressed,” he said.

The senior secretary’s remarks underline the administration’s commitment to facilitating transparent, impartial, and orderly elections in the country.
