Dhaka, Oct 17 (V7N) — Shafiqul Alam, the Press Secretary to the Chief Advisor, has called upon members of the Buddhist community to hope and pray that the upcoming February elections will be the best and most successful in the country’s history.

He made the remarks while addressing the Kathina Chibar Danotsab and National Conference held at the Bangladesh Buddhist Mahavihara premises in Uttara on Friday morning (October 17).

“The current interim government is committed to ensuring an orderly and fair election through the combined efforts of all communities and ethnic groups,” Shafiqul Alam said.

During the program, the Press Secretary also listened to several demands from representatives of the Buddhist community and assured that he would convey their concerns to the Chief Advisor for necessary action.

Leaders of the Buddhist community from Dhaka and surrounding areas attended the event.
