Natore, Oct 26 (V7N) — Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman has expressed confidence that the Army Corps of Engineers will continue to play an important role in the nation’s development through honesty, professionalism, and a strong sense of responsibility.

He made the remarks while addressing the inauguration ceremony of the Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Engineers and the Annual Commanders’ Conference held at Qadirabad Cantonment in Natore on Sunday morning.

During the event, General Waqar-uz-Zaman was officially inaugurated as the ninth Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Engineers. Following the ceremony, he exchanged views with commanders and officers on technological advancement, research, professional skill enhancement, and future planning.

The Army Chief paid tribute to the members of the Corps of Engineers and the brave freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives during the Great Liberation War, noting that their contribution to nation-building remains a source of pride and inspiration.

He also highly praised the dedication and success of the Corps of Engineers in various developmental activities across the country.

The event was attended by the GOC of the Army Training and Doctrine Command, the Director General of BIISS, the Chief Consultant General, the Engineer-in-Chief, the Commander of the Engineer Brigade, and several unit commanders.
