Dhaka, Nov 08 (V7N) — Shafiqul Alam, Press Secretary to the Chief Advisor, has emphasized that while disagreements among political parties are expected, a consensus must be reached. He warned that if parties fail to agree on the referendum, the government will make a decision promptly to prevent any uncertainty about the upcoming elections.
He made the remarks at a dialogue organized by Trace Consulting at a hotel in the capital on Saturday (November 8).
Alam noted that all relevant issues are documented in the July Charter, with political parties having submitted their considered opinions. A total of 4,000 pages of records and a video recording exist, and discussions may resume after the election if needed.
He also stated that the election atmosphere has been created nationwide, reaffirming the government’s commitment to holding free and fair elections in the first half of February, promising a “beautiful vote.”
