Dhaka, Nov 14 (V7N) — National Security Advisor (NSA) of the interim government Khalilur Rahman is set to visit New Delhi on a two-day official trip at the invitation of India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. A bilateral meeting between the two NSAs is considered likely during the visit.
According to sources, Khalilur Rahman’s visit has been confirmed. He will travel to the Indian capital on November 19 to attend the Conference of National Security Advisors of Indian Ocean Region Countries.
Although it is not yet fully confirmed whether the NSAs of Bangladesh and India will hold a sideline meeting, officials from both countries are reportedly open to direct dialogue given the changing and sensitive political situation in Bangladesh. Therefore, a brief bilateral discussion cannot be ruled out.
This will be the second visit to Delhi by an advisor since the interim government led by Professor Muhammad Yunus assumed office in August last year. Earlier, Energy Advisor Muhammad Fauzul Kabir Khan visited India in February to attend India Energy Week.
