Jhenaidah, Nov 21 (V7N) — Attorney General Md. Asaduzzaman stated that Sheikh Hasina was tried based on all available evidence, but emphasized that the accused still has the right to appeal the verdict.

He made the remarks during a view-sharing meeting in Shailkupa, Jhenaidah, on Friday morning, attended by teachers from various schools and colleges in the upazila.

The Attorney General highlighted the gravity of the case, noting that more than 1,400 people were killed in just 20 days. Referring to the evidence against Sheikh Hasina and the other accused in the July genocide case, he said that any court in the world would find them guilty.

He also added that the government is making efforts to implement the verdict in accordance with legal procedures.
