Dhaka, Nov 22 (V7N) — Less than a day after the powerful earthquake that struck Madhavadi in Narsingdi, the Earthquake Observation and Research Center of the Bangladesh Meteorological Department has detected another tremor — this time in Bypile, Savar.
The latest quake was recorded at 10:36 am on Saturday, measuring 3.3 on the Richter scale. Meteorologists have termed it a minor earthquake. According to the Met Office, the epicenter of this tremor was located in Palash, Narsingdi.
On Friday morning, a much stronger 5.7 magnitude earthquake shook Dhaka and surrounding districts, leaving 10 people dead, including two children. The sudden quake caused panic across the country and led to reports of damaged buildings in multiple locations.
Experts say such aftershocks are common following a major seismic event, but authorities are continuing to monitor the situation closely.
