Dhaka, Nov 24 (V7N)- The Election Commission (EC) has decided to suspend the National Identity Card (NID) correction process until the upcoming 13th parliamentary election. The decision comes as preparations for voter list printing have already begun.

Md. Saiful Islam, Director (Operations) of the National Identity Registration Division, confirmed on Monday that the NID correction activity will be halted from this afternoon until the national elections or until further notice.

According to the interim government’s announcement, the 13th national parliamentary elections are scheduled to be held in the first half of February. The government has also requested the EC to organize a referendum on the same day, and preparations for this are currently underway.
