Dhaka, Nov 29 (V7N) — President Md. Shahabuddin has expressed deep concern over the deteriorating health of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, who is currently receiving treatment in a hospital.
The President’s concern was conveyed through a message sent to the media by his Assistant Private Secretary on Saturday (November 29). He also called upon the people of the country to pray for Khaleda Zia’s speedy recovery.
BNP Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas, who visited the hospital at midnight on Friday, told reporters afterward that Khaleda Zia’s physical condition remains unstable.
“We tried to speak with her from a distance. She recognized us, and we exchanged greetings,” he said.
Khaleda Zia, who is nearly 80 and suffering from multiple chronic illnesses, was admitted to the hospital on November 23 with a lung infection and heart complications. She is currently being treated in the CCU, under the continuous close observation of a medical board comprising local and foreign specialist doctors.
