Dhaka, Dec 02 (V7N) — Foreign Affairs Advisor Touhid Hossain has said that the interim government has not yet received any official communication regarding BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman's possible return to Dhaka.
He made the remarks during a briefing with reporters at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday.
“Tarique Rahman has not applied for any travel pass so far. Once he applies, the government will issue it immediately,” the advisor said.
Touhid Hossain also stated that the government will take necessary steps to send BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia abroad for advanced treatment if her family or party requests it.
Meanwhile, Khaleda Zia’s physical condition remains unchanged, though she is able to undergo treatment, said her personal physician Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain. Speaking to reporters in front of Evercare Hospital, he urged the public not to believe rumors and requested patience from all.
Khaleda Zia was taken to Evercare Hospital from her Gulshan residence Firoza on the night of November 23 for a health check-up. Following evaluation, the medical board decided to admit her for comprehensive treatment. She has long been suffering from multiple complications, including arthritis, diabetes, kidney issues, lung problems and eye-related ailments.
