Chattogram, Jan 14 (V7N) — Home Affairs Advisor Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has said that the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) is fully prepared to ensure that the upcoming elections are held in a peaceful, orderly and festive manner across the country.
He said that around 37,000 BGB members will be deployed in 61 districts to maintain law and order during the electoral process. At the same time, he issued a firm warning that no one should attempt to disrupt the elections.
The Home Affairs Advisor made these remarks while visiting the closing parade of the 104th recruit batch of BGB at Satkania in Chattogram on Wednesday (January 14) morning.
During the event, it was disclosed that a record number of 3,023 recruits have joined the force in a single batch this time. Among them, 2,950 are men and 73 are women.
Earlier, Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, along with BGB Director General Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui, formally inspected the closing parade and reviewed the training and preparedness of the newly inducted soldiers.
The advisor expressed hope that the BGB, alongside other law enforcement agencies, would play a crucial role in ensuring a secure environment for voters and upholding the integrity of the electoral process.
