Dhaka, Jan 17 (V7N) — The government has launched a Quick Response Team (QRT) program to prevent violence against women and children, officials announced on Saturday. Victims can receive immediate assistance by contacting hotline 109.
The program was inaugurated by Women and Children Affairs Advisor Sharmin S. Murshid at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital. She said the team will respond to cases within 24 hours and stressed that the ministry is working to expand the program to every village, neighborhood, and community across the country to ensure safety for women and children.
Sharmin S. Murshid also called on young people to play an active role in nation-building and announced that the ministry will undertake various programs to ensure women’s participation in the upcoming referendum.
The QRT program is expected to strengthen protection mechanisms for vulnerable groups and provide swift support to victims of violence.
