Dhaka, Jan 29 (V7N) — The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has extended the deadline for filing income tax returns for individual taxpayers by one month, allowing submissions for the 2025-26 tax year until February 28, 2026.
In a special order issued on Thursday, the NBR said that, in the public interest and under the powers granted by Section 334 of the Income Tax Act, 2023, the government-approved deadline for natural persons and Hindu Undivided Families (HUF) taxpayers has been moved from January 31, 2026, to February 28, 2026.
The tax authority noted that the deadline had already been extended multiple times in the current tax year to accommodate taxpayers.
The extension aims to ease compliance for individual taxpayers and ensure timely submission of returns ahead of the upcoming tax assessments.
