Dhaka, Feb 10 (V7N) — The documents and keys of a ready-made flat were handed over to the family of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi by Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus on Tuesday. The announcement was made through a press release issued by the Chief Adviser’s press wing.

The handover ceremony took place at the State Guest House Jamuna in the presence of Osman Hadi’s wife and family members. The flat was provided by the National Housing Authority in the Lalmatia area of Dhaka.

Also present at the ceremony were Housing and Public Works Advisor Adilur Rahman Khan, Information Advisor Syeda Rezwana Hasan, Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works Md. Nazrul Islam, and Chairperson of the National Housing Authority Ferdousi Begum.

Sharif Osman Hadi was shot by miscreants on December 12, a day after the announcement of the schedule for the 13th National Parliament election and referendum, near Box Culvert Road in Paltan, Dhaka. He was initially treated at Dhaka Medical College Hospital and Evercare Hospital, before being taken to Singapore for advanced treatment, where he died on the night of December 18.

Earlier, the Chief Adviser had promised to support Hadi’s family. In line with this, the government has decided to provide financial assistance of 2 crore taka. Of this, 1 crore taka will be used to purchase a flat in Dhaka, while the remaining 1 crore taka will be provided as livelihood assistance for the family.
