Dhaka, Feb 13 (V7N) — The United States Embassy in Dhaka has congratulated Tarique Rahman, Chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), following the outcome of the 13th National Parliament election.

In a post shared on its official Facebook page on Friday, the embassy said, “Congratulations to the people of Bangladesh for holding a successful election. Best wishes to BNP and Tarique Rahman on their historic victory. The United States looks forward to working with you to realize the common goal of prosperity and security for our two countries.”

The 13th parliamentary elections and referendum, which began across Bangladesh on Thursday morning (February 12), have now concluded, with the BNP set to form the government after securing a majority.
