Dhaka, Feb 16 (V7N) — Japan has praised Bangladesh for conducting the 13th parliamentary elections in a credible manner and congratulated the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its Chairman Tarique Rahman on their victory.
In a statement issued by the Embassy of Japan in Dhaka, Japan said it “sincerely congratulates the 13th parliamentary elections conducted in a credible manner with the spontaneous participation of the people of Bangladesh.”
The statement extended congratulations to all political parties and leaders, “especially BNP and its Chairman Tarique Rahman,” acknowledging their electoral success.
Japan also expressed hope that the government formation process would proceed smoothly and peacefully, reaffirming its commitment to further strengthening the strategic partnership between Dhaka and Tokyo.
Highlighting future cooperation, the embassy noted Japan’s continued engagement in expanding bilateral collaboration in key areas of mutual interest between the two countries.
