Dhaka, Feb 16 (V7N) — The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), which won the 13th National Parliamentary elections, will hold a parliamentary party meeting following the oath-taking of newly elected members, Salahuddin Ahmed said on Monday.

The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday (February 17) at 11:30 AM at the Parliament House, immediately after the MPs’ oath ceremony. Salahuddin Ahmed stated that the parliamentary party leader will be elected during this session. BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman is expected to become Prime Minister as the leader of the majority party.

  • The 13th National Parliament elections and referendum were held on Thursday, February 12.

  • The Election Commission published the gazette of winners for 297 out of 299 seats on Friday night, February 13.

  • The 297 newly elected MPs will take their oath at 10 AM on Tuesday, administered by AMM Nasir Uddin, Chief Election Commissioner.
