Dhaka, Mar 01 (V7N) – Finance and Planning Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury has been admitted to United Hospital in the capital after suffering from pneumonia.

The minister’s personal officer Shahiduzzaman confirmed the matter to the media on Sunday, saying he was taken to the hospital after falling ill. He added that the minister’s physical condition is currently improving under medical supervision.

Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury was elected as a nominee of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party from the Chittagong-11 constituency in the 13th National Parliament election and was later entrusted with the key Finance and Planning portfolio in the newly formed government.

Officials said further updates on his condition will be provided if necessary.
