Doha, Mar 03 (V7N) — Qatar has announced a one-month extension of entry visas for foreign nationals stranded due to the ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
In an official statement, Doha authorities said the policy will apply to individuals whose entry visas have already expired or are about to expire. The extended validity will be effective from February 28.
Officials further clarified that the extension will be implemented automatically through an electronic process, meaning visa holders will not need to submit separate applications or visit government offices. Authorities also confirmed that no additional fees will be charged for the extension.
The move comes at a time when the broader Middle East region remains volatile amid escalating tensions involving Iran and the United States and Israel. With regional instability affecting travel schedules and flight operations, Qatar’s decision is seen as a humanitarian and administrative measure aimed at easing difficulties faced by stranded visitors.
Authorities indicated that the policy could be extended further if the situation requires, depending on developments in the region.
