Munshiganj, Mar 16 (V7N) — Road Transport, Bridges, Rail and Shipping Minister Sheikh Rabiul Alam has said that there is no fuel shortage in the country, assuring that adequate supply to public transport has been ensured since Sunday night.

He made the remarks while inspecting the North Toll Plaza area of the Padma Bridge in Louhajang on Monday evening.

The minister noted that around 15 million মানুষ are expected to leave the capital within a very short period ahead of Eid, calling it a rare occurrence globally. “Such a large movement of people in just two to two-and-a-half days is uncommon anywhere in the world,” he said.

To manage the situation, authorities have identified 260 key نقاط prone to traffic congestion. Highway police, local law enforcement, Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) officials, transport workers, and trained volunteers are working in coordination to ensure smooth travel.

He added that comprehensive preparations have been taken for a total of eight days before and after Eid to manage the surge in passenger movement. “There are some limitations, but we are gradually increasing our capacity,” he said.
