Dhaka, Mar 20 (V7N) — State Minister for Road Transport and Highways and Railways Habibur Rashid Habib has left Dhaka for Cox’s Bazar by train to directly monitor whether the Eid journey is progressing smoothly.
He departed from Kamalapur Railway Station on Thursday night aboard the Cox's Bazar Express, heading towards Chattogram.
According to a post published on the minister’s official Facebook page early Thursday, the visit is being carried out under the instructions of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to ensure a safe and comfortable Eid journey for passengers.
During the journey, the State Minister exchanged greetings with ordinary passengers, listened to their experiences, and provided necessary instructions to concerned officials to improve services.
The post highlighted that while many people are spending the Eid holidays with their families, the minister has prioritized his responsibilities by taking this initiative to reduce public suffering. It added that “People first” remains the guiding principle behind his work.
The move comes as millions of people travel across the country ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, putting significant pressure on transport systems nationwide.
