Dhaka, Apr 09 (V7N) – Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin said on Thursday that the by-elections in the Sherpur-3 constituency are proceeding smoothly and peacefully. He spoke at a briefing for journalists at the Election Commission Building.

The CEC highlighted that polling stations are being monitored centrally using advanced scientific methods, including drones, and emphasized that the by-election can be conducted as efficiently as the 13th national election.

He also stated that the law and order situation is normal, and voters are casting their ballots without any problems.

Regarding future local government elections, the CEC said the commission will coordinate with the government and is awaiting any changes in the law.

On the controversy over the oath-taking of members of the Constitution Reform Council, the Chief Election Commissioner declined to comment, describing it as a pending matter.
