Dhaka, Apr 12 (V7N) – The second phase of the nationwide measles-rubella vaccination campaign has begun, targeting over 1.2 million children in the capital and four city corporation areas.

State Minister for Health Dr. MA Muhith inaugurated the program in Dhaka North City Corporation on Sunday morning.

The campaign will run daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, excluding weekends, with both permanent and temporary vaccination centers set up to ensure wider coverage.

The minister emphasized that improving child health, especially in underserved areas, remains a key priority of the government. He also called on media professionals to actively support awareness efforts during the campaign.

Highlighting the importance of participation, he said at least 95 percent of children must be brought under vaccination coverage to effectively control outbreaks and ensure Herd Immunity.

Parents have been urged to ensure their children receive the vaccine, as authorities aim to make the program successful through collective efforts.
