Dhaka, Apr 17 (V7N)– Religious Affairs Minister Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad has assured that the ongoing global conflicts will not affect this year’s Hajj pilgrimage, stating that all Hajj-related activities, including flights, will continue without disruption.
He made the remarks while speaking to reporters after visiting the Ashkona Hajj Camp on Friday (April 17).
The minister said there is no risk to Hajj operations, and preparations are proceeding as planned. He added that the government is taking all necessary measures to ensure smooth management of the pilgrimage.
Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad said that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has directed authorities to reduce Hajj costs. “A more affordable Hajj package will be implemented from next year,” he said.
The minister emphasized that there are no major shortcomings in Hajj management, but strict action will be taken in case of any irregularities. He also assured that existing issues—such as mosquito problems and accommodation shortcomings at the camp—will be resolved promptly.
He further noted that the Prime Minister is expected to visit the Ashkona Hajj Camp before formally inaugurating the Hajj flights.
