Dhaka, May 05 (V7N) — Information and Broadcasting Adviser Zahid Ur Rahman has announced that a one-time financial assistance of Tk 7,500 will be provided to people affected by natural disasters in the haor regions.
Speaking on Tuesday, he said the initiative aims to support vulnerable communities facing losses due to recent flooding and adverse weather conditions.
In addition, city corporations have taken steps to regulate mobile traders and free footpaths from encroachment. Under the plan, designated areas will be allocated for mobile vendors, and each trader will be issued a special identification card. Their business activities will be monitored to ensure orderly operations and improved pedestrian movement.
The adviser also addressed public health concerns, stating that the government has already administered 16.1 million vaccines to prevent Measles. He added that the remaining doses under the special campaign will be distributed soon.
Emphasizing the importance of child safety, he said that the loss of even a single child is unacceptable. He further noted that while the interim government did not intentionally delay the vaccination program, an investigation will be conducted to determine why vaccines were not administered on time.
