Dhaka, May 11 (V7N)- Tarique Rahman on Monday participated in a special welfare meeting organized on the occasion of Police Week at the Prime Minister’s Office in Dhaka.
During the meeting, Inspector General of Police Ali Hossain Fakir emphasized the need to transform the police force into a more people-oriented and publicly engaged institution in the aftermath of the recent mass uprising.
He said enhancing the efficiency and operational capacity of the police has become essential to address evolving security challenges across the country.
The police chief also stressed the importance of structural development within the force, including the addition of modern technology, improved operational equipment, increased vehicles, and advanced training programs to effectively combat cybercrime and other emerging threats.
Salahuddin Ahmed, along with senior police officials and government representatives, was present at the meeting.
