Dhaka, May 14 (V7N) — Commerce Minister Khandaker Abdul Muktadir has urged Beijing to further increase investment in Bangladesh, highlighting China as the country’s largest trading partner. He also requested technical assistance for Bangladesh’s jute industry.

The remarks were made during the inauguration of the Bangladesh-China Green Textile Expo held in the capital on Thursday morning.

At the event, Chinese Ambassador to Dhaka Yao Wen said China is working with Bangladesh’s new government to expand bilateral trade ties. He also assured continued technical cooperation in the green textile sector.

The expo brings together leading textile and garment companies, investors, technologists, and business delegations from both Bangladesh and China, focusing on eco-friendly and renewable textile technologies.

The exhibition features seminars and panel discussions on sustainable textile innovation and green manufacturing practices.

The three-day event is open daily from 10 am to 7 pm and will continue until May 16.
