Dhaka, May 25 (V7N) – Bangladesh Railway is selling the final batch of advance return tickets for intercity train passengers returning to the capital after Eid-ul-Azha on Monday.
According to the railway authorities, tickets for journeys scheduled on June 4 are being sold today. Tickets for intercity trains operating in the western region started being sold online from 8 am, while tickets for trains in the eastern region will be available from 2 pm.
As in previous phases of Eid ticket sales, all tickets are being sold online to ensure convenience for passengers and reduce crowding at railway stations.
Under the special Eid work plan of Bangladesh Railway, advance tickets for May 31 were sold on May 21, tickets for June 1 on May 22, tickets for June 2 on May 23, and tickets for June 3 on May 24.
Railway authorities also stated that advance Eid journey tickets are non-refundable. In addition, a passenger can purchase a maximum of four tickets in one transaction. However, the names of accompanying passengers must be provided during ticket purchase if more than one seat is booked.
The Eid-ul-Azha holiday rush has already begun, with thousands of people leaving the capital to celebrate the festival with their families in different parts of the country.
