Dhaka, May 28 (V7N)- The first congregation of the holy Eid-ul-Azha was held at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque with due religious solemnity and festivity on Thursday morning.

The congregation began at 7:00 am as scheduled, with Baitul Mukarram’s Senior Pesh Imam Hafez Mufti Maulana Mizanur Rahman leading the prayers as Imam.

Before the Eid prayers, Maulana Mizanur Rahman delivered a sermon highlighting the significance of sacrifice, devotion and the teachings of Eid-ul-Azha to the worshippers present at the mosque.

According to the schedule, four more Eid congregations are set to be held at the National Mosque at 8:00 am, 9:00 am, 10:00 am and 10:45 am respectively.

Meanwhile, the country’s main Eid congregation was held at the National Eidgah Maidan in Dhaka. President Md. Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman participated in the congregation alongside cabinet members, politicians, diplomats, judges, intellectuals, senior government officials and around 35,000 worshippers from different walks of life.
