The Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has finalized preparations for the main congregation of Eid-ul-Fitr, scheduled to be held at 8:30 am on Thursday at the National Eidgah grounds. Approximately 35,000 Muslims are expected to offer Eid prayers at this venue, and the DSCC has ensured all necessary arrangements for a smooth and comfortable experience.

Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Tapas, after inspecting the National Eidgah ground, stated that comprehensive preparations have been made, including facilities for 35,000 worshippers. Measures have been taken to address potential challenges such as rain or storm, with the entire area covered with triple layers to prevent water seepage and ensure the comfort of attendees.

The DSCC has installed 10 air coolers, along with ceiling fans, stand fans, metal lights, and tube lights to enhance the environment for worshippers. Additionally, provisions for food, water, prayer mats, mobile toilets, and first aid services have been made. Three separate entry gates have been designated for VIPs, women, and men to facilitate smooth entry and exit.

At the National Eidgah, arrangements include 5 VIP (male) queues, 1 VIP (female) queue, and multiple public queues for both men and women. Furthermore, facilities for ablution have been arranged, accommodating a total of 140 individuals.

Security measures have also been intensified, with DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman confirming the deployment of SWAT and bomb disposal units to ensure safety during the congregation. Road diversions have been implemented around the venue, and separate prayer arrangements have been made for women, with searches conducted by female police officers.

Moreover, the DMP traffic department has organized parking in 10 designated areas around the Eid congregation site and established separate security protocols for the 184 Eidgahs and 1,488 mosques across Dhaka where Eid prayers will be offered. These measures aim to facilitate a peaceful and secure Eid-ul-Fitr celebration for all worshippers in the city.
