Jhenaidah, July 31 (V7N): Attorney General Barrister Ruhul Quddus Kajal has said that ensuring justice for ordinary citizens is the greatest satisfaction for an Attorney General, even if the state loses a legal case.

He made the remarks while attending a civic meeting as the chief guest at Kotchandpur in Jhenaidah on Friday (July 31).

The meeting was organized at the Upazila Parishad auditorium to welcome Advocate Faima Nasrin, the reserved women’s seat Member of Parliament from Munshiganj-3 constituency.

The Attorney General said, “The main objective of the rule of law and the judiciary is to protect the rights of citizens. The most important issue is not whether the state or an individual wins a case, but whether justice is established.”

He added that when the judicial system delivers fair and expected justice to a citizen, it increases public confidence in the legal system and creates no dissatisfaction, even for a representative of the state.

Advocate Faima Nasrin addressed the event as the main speaker, which was chaired by Kotchandpur Upazila BNP President Abdur Razzak.

Maheshpur Upazila BNP President Mehedi Hasan Roni attended the program as a special guest. Local political leaders, cultural activists, journalists and civil society representatives were also present.

Speakers at the event called for collective efforts to establish the rule of law, ensure media freedom and protect citizens’ rights.
